VISUAL session 1

In visual class1, we tried to draw our hands and feet from different angles by sketching. In the beginning, we first tried to draw our own hands with our used to and not used to hands, and then we observed each other’s legs, heels and shoes, and used a very limited time to paint.

I really like this time-limited painting method, because it can force us to make the decision very quickly which parts should be emphasized or ignored. Although the object we draw may not be perfect or real, at the same time we could draw very interesting and unexpected works. When I was drawing, I was often afraid of making mistakes so I would always use the eraser, but the process of quick-sketching was very fast and I couldn’t use the eraser. Although I was a little confused at first, it was quite quick to get used to this method. I tried to use some methods to make the wrong part not be too obvious, such as adding wrinkled lines or adding more shadows. Although the sketches were not perfect, I think doing more exercises like this will help my drawing skills, it can let me discover more different ways of painting.

To be honest, I didn’t have much time to sketch when I was doing all kinds of homework recently, but I think I would spend more time sketching when I have time on holiday.
